A Swiss organization, New Open World Corporation(NOWC), has come up with a poll, with 21 finalists.
The best part - you and I can vote:-)
The results will be declared 142 days later, on 07.07.07.

P.S. - While all countries are all geared up for the voting, Egypt seems to have taken a major offence to this fresh analysis.

does anyone[well there are exceptions] really care as to what the seven wonders of the world really are..what change does it bring to our life..and voting is not something which gives the best results[been seen on reality shows like Indian Idol]..
Its not so much about caring or not caring (who cares whether others care or not, anyway?) or even about whether these icons 'bring anything to our lives'..in fact, its not much about anything other than the fact that these places can move you, when you go there. And for this reason alone, i certainly am keen to see what the 'final list' would be. Of course, they ALL are significant places/buildings and there is something magical about all of them (and the others that didnt make the shortlist) but to 'agree' to a 'top 7' collectively would be interesting. Having said all that, at the end of the day, any 'wonders of the world' ultimately is the place of your own heart.
